What the Attendants Will Wear:

Gentlemen:

Nick has decided on the formalwear for the men of the bridal party! All the gents will be in very classic grey striped trousers, with charcoal grey strollers and grey vests. The men will have four-in-hand ties with a large grey paisley print, and grey vests. The shoes have squared toes. The shirt is off-white; evidently this is so that Wendy's dress doesn't look dingy when photographed next to white-white shirts.

Our rentals are through Gingess, mostly because they seem to be located EVERYWHERE.

Ladies:

This letter was sent to all the ladies in the bridal party 30 September 1999. We're still playing with ideas for what the gents will wear, but we're leaning towards matching tuxes with different waistcoats and ties (think "the last wedding in Four Weddings and a Funeral"). This letter is unedited....so the at-home audience can judge for themselves whether or not Wendy is becoming a Bridezilla...yet.

One thing that has changed: the color of the dresses. Instead of forest/hunter green, the ladies will all be in midnight blue.

Okay!

Take this as Official Notification Of Dresses.

I would like each of you ladies to select a forest/hunter green long dress to wear in the wedding. The goal here is for you to find something you LIKE that will make you feel pretty, elegant, and happy. I'll be glad to go with any or all of you on shopping excursions if you're unsure, or hey, even if you just want to hang out.

Some ideas:

Fabric: Dressy; I'm partial to crepe, but anything would work, except the shiniest of satin. Of course, a cotton knit jersey or a wool tweed wouldn't really work, either, but those aren't quite the kind of "dressy" one thinks of when one thinks of weddings, right?

Hem: I'd like all the dresses to be floor-length. If you find one that's a tad shorter than that, let's talk.

Sleeves: Between 3/4-length and sleeveless-but-not-straps-or-strapless (my dress is sleeveless...if you want an idea of "okay sleeveless" check out https://members.tripod.com/WendyAFG/wedding/dress.htm).

Shoes: Either black or dyed-to-match. Heel height, up to you!

Things To Remember: The wedding is in a church, the reception will have dancing.

Why Is Wendy Bothering Me About This Now: It's 380 days until the wedding, and I want you all to have ample time to plan. Who knows, a pre- or post-New Years sale might have the perfect dress for you.

Regardless, since the wedding is next October, you should probably aim at having your dress in hand by mid August of next year, so there can be alterations, if needed.

Fun, no?

Let me know if you have questions.

And have I mentioned how happy I am that y'all are going to be a part of this?

Wendy
